This quick start guide only covers instructions for the latest version of EB license types. For Legacy licenses see the relevant section in our more extensive User Guide.
For EB Assist ADTF 3, EB Assist Test Lab, and EB Assist Test Lab Scene Manager please follow the license instructions which you find after the installation of each product on your PC.
Activate licenses
Instructions for single users
- If you have not done this already, download the EB Client License Administrator tool and install it.
- Enter the activation code that you have received per email into the Activation Code text box.
- In the Online Activation section on the right-hand side, click Activate.

For offline activation requests, click Create Activation Request in the Offline Activation section on the left-hand side of the tool instead of step 3 above. Upload the automatically downloaded file in the Offline License Handling section of the Licensing portal and click Process. Then, click Process Activation in the tool and select the activation response file.
The Status section at the bottom of the tool should show that the activation was successful. If you encounter any issues, please contact us.
Instructions for floating server providers
Download our Server Package for demo configuration files and other useful information.
- Configure the license server.
- If you have not done this already, install our latest EB Server License Administrator tool.
- Enter the activation code that you have received per email into the Activation Code text box.
- Enter the number of licenses to be activated.
NOTE: You can activate all ordered licenses on one machine, or you can split your licenses to several license servers.
- In the Online Activation section on the right-hand side, click Activate.

Upload the automatically downloaded file in the Offline License Handling section of the Licensing portal and click Process. Instructions for using USB dongled license files
- If you have not done this already, download and install the WibuKey Runtime or Sentinel driver.
- Plug in your EB USB dongle.
- Under Order History in the licensing portal, download your license file.
If you require assistance from EB Support, retrieve your dongle serial number and your customer ID and contact us.
Upgrade licenses
- Open the EB License Administrator tool.
- Select the license to be upgraded to the latest version from the list of activated licenses in the Licenses section at the center of the tool.
- In the Online Activation section on the right-hand side, click Upgrade.
The Status section at the bottom of the tool should show that the license was successfully upgraded to the latest version. If you encounter any issues, please contact us.
For offline upgrade requests, you will need to return the license for the current version and then activate the license for the latest version. Please follow the instructions for offline return followed by the instructions for offline activation.
Return licenses
- Open the EB License Administrator tool.
- Select the license to be returned from the list of activated licenses in the Licenses section at the center of the tool.
- In the Online Activation section on the right-hand side, click Return.
The Status section at the bottom of the tool should show that the license was successfully returned and is now available again. If you encounter any issues, please contact us.
For offline return requests, click Create Return Request in the Offline Activation section on the left-hand side of the tool instead of step 3 above. Upload the automatically downloaded file in the Offline License Handling section of the Licensing portal and click Process.
